In 1920, long before the State of Israel existed, riots broke out in Jerusalem during the Nebi Musa procession. Arab mobs attacked Jewish residents while shouting “Kill the Jews,” leaving five dead and more than 200 wounded. The violence became one of the earliest outbreaks in the modern Arab–Jewish conflict.
